FIRST there was Pure Blonde, then Naked Blonde and now Maxx Blonde – confused?

This latest release onto the Blonde market (which is a trendy way of saying low carb) comes to us from ‘across The Ditch’ and should proved to be pretty popular over the summer months.

As is the case with many premium beers these days, Maxx Blonde boasts no preservatives or additives and is low carb.

It is crisp and clean across the palate and doesn’t sit heavy in the gut but it’s not a beer that will impress you with flavour complexity.

It’s a very ‘social’ beer, easy to drink and you can easily have a few on a hot day but it is a full strength beer at 4.6 percent.

Perhaps the biggest appeal of this drop is the price, around $13 per six pack of 330ml stubbies.

I’d suggest this is a good barbeque beer or Christmas party beer (provided you aren’t driving).

It does have a slightly bitter aftertaste with a subtle hop flavour coming through.

If you are looking for something which suits the holiday budget, this Kiwi drop is just the shot bro – you can party to the MAXX eh!

MY TIP

This is a good affordable premium beer, well suited for summer. Serve it up nice and cold and while it doesn’t have any ‘surprises in its flavour, it would go well at barbies or parties because it doesn’t make you feel bloated. At around $13 a six pack at Coles outlets, it’s hard to go past.
