Southport Tasmania, is located at the bottom of the Huon Trail, approximately 90 kms south of Hobart.
It is located close to Recherche Bay Australia's first French Settlement. It was one of Tasmania's penal colonies, "for the worst offenders". Later, Southport Bay became an early whaling post.
Your trip along the Huon trail offers diverse wilderness experiences, such as the Tahune Airwalk, Hastings Caves and Cockle Creek. These wilderness experiences are an easy day trip to and from Southport.
