The name Limeburners refers to our Sorrento ancestors, whom dug lime from the depths of the Sorrento soils and burnt it in kilns to expertly create the marvellous limestones that make up the structure of the hotel. The Limeburners lay claim to being the first official business operation within the Sorrento Township.
Both bars overlook the Bay and provide magnificent views of Melbourne to the north, Mud Island and The Fort in the bay, The Dandenong's, Frankston and Mount Martha. From the deck it is not uncommon to see a pod of dolphins swim past or a whale come up to catch a breath. Along with nature’s visitors, you can enjoy all the action of the ferries crossing, the sea rescue helicopter landing on its nearby pad, colourful yachts cruising, and local fisherman meandering back to the jetty after a day's fishing.
The Sorrento Restaurant offers old world charm, exciting modern cuisine, complimented by magnificent sea views. The menu is comprised of grills and seafood with local Australian ingredients and a fusion of International flavours. Designed to delight the taste buds, what better place to catch up with family and friends! The limestone surrounds radiate an atmosphere of style and elegance. Executive Head Chef, Johnson from Kenya, has created a sublime world class menu that is constantly changing.
Hotel Sorrento offers a premium range of accommodation to suit all types of getaways, from a romantic weekend for two or a fun filled group adventure, to a stylish conference of 60.
