In 1893, the chaff shed on this site was the venue for the first court case in Moora. In 1897, John Brown, formerly the owner of the Waddington Hotel (Victoria Plains) was the owner of the Moora Hotel, which at that time was a galvanised iron shanty. It burnt down in 1906 and the existing building was constructed on that site in 1907. Robert James was the licensee of the then Moora Hotel.
Wildflower season from September and just over an hour inland from Cervanties Pinnacles a lovely day trip. Make an overnight stay and explore Watheroo Cave, stop at the Wildflower Factory on the way (check opening times) or take a walk along our heritage trail and the Moore River that is still beautiful while dry. The current management (2013) of the Moora Hotel is providing a comfortable and welcoming experience for our guests. We are focusing on providing excellent meals, quality service and comfortable refurbished bedrooms. We provide a relaxing place for a quiet drink, a meal with the family or a catchup with friends. We are currently refurbishing our downstairs area and bringing in cafe furniture and food/drinks. If you havent been here for a while drop in and say hello to Sarah and her friendly staff.
