About Beachhouse Cafe and Bar:

Once this place stops serving food, it becomes the most up to date and fashionable bar in Port Macquarie. Playing a good mix of up to the minute electronic music, serving great German beers and with its night views of the Hastings River, you can't go past this place in the CBD. Frequently visited by young professional workers, and a more mature clientele than the other bars nearby, it is the place to see and be seen.

Expensive food and wine for no reward

First up, we found a bottle of wine to share - the same one we drank the previous evening at another venue. However, it was $15 more than what we paid the night before!! I asked the Manager why this was the case and was pretty much given the brush off, with a comment of "well, we can't change the prices".......had to settle for another wine which was still over $40 (the cheapest was $36...!!)

The meals were average and overpriced. My fish, which was supposed to be lightly crumbed fish fillets, had been deep fried so much it had curled up and was very dry. The same with the chicken schnitzel. The salads were basically rocket and lettuce.
Overall very disappointing and won't be returning for a very long time. Hardly conducive to a family night out. The only thing that was reasonable was the view and they really didn't have to do anything to make that nice.

Went there Sunday lunchtime with visitors.
No light healthy lunch available, mainly fried of baked food.
Best value appeared to be a Roast beef roll with coldslaw & yoghurt mint dressing with a beer or squash $15 each.
Wine glass half filled $7.20
The meat as so chunky, fatty, & rare to raw, we couln't bit or pull it apart.
We spoke to the manager about it, but no compensation or refund was offered.
We won't be back until the menu changes.
Ive tried phoning Tuesday, but it rings out. Great service.!!! Its a shame its a great location.
Used to have wraps & melts etc. quiche & salad.
Healthier options included, please.
