About The Peninsula Pub:
Mareeba itself is a hub for travellers heading north to Cooktown and Cape York, west to the Outback or south to explore the towns, villages and hamlets of the Atherton Tablelands. The town's name comes from an Aboriginal word meaning 'meeting of the waters', since it is here that the mighty Barron River meets Emerald and Granite Creeks.
