I first moved from the ocean at Victor Harbour to the dessert dry beautiful rich and rare of Mintavie Opal Fields at the start of year 10 high school I love this place with all my heart its the place I long to go back too.. I miss you all and I will be back soon. xxxx

A must see town for every aussie , at least once, before they kick the bucket.
Hotel Mintabie is serving the most generous lunch on the continent....
The publicans , Vesna , Luka and Tadija ex-patriate croats, are real aussie gems.

Mintabie Hotel
One of the best places ive been in the world, with a mix of complete remoteness, precious stones, the coldest beer ive ever had and some great tales from the old boys that still toil in the sand.
Somewhere i will never forget and will go back to.
Stayed at the caravan park in the hotel grounds and loved it!!! See you again soon!
Mintabie Pub
This is a real outback experience. Great food, cold beer, good old Oze opal miners to yarn with, what more could you want. Be careful though, you could catch the opal bug and there is NO CURE... you'll be stuck there for life.. oh well WTF!
