The Bells Hotel opened it’s doors in1922, which makes the hotel 90 years old
next birthday. The Miles family is proud to continue a fine tradition.
In fact, there has been a hotel on this exact site as long ago as 1868, with a
pub called ‘Punches’. Back then Woolloomooloo was an inner city working
class area dominated by working wharfs and the Garden Island Naval Base.
Not surprisingly, the hotel was a firm favourite with locals, sailors and ‘wharvies’
alike. Nowadays the docks have gone, Garden Island has downsized and the waterfront and marina have been tastefully re-modernised for all to enjoy.
We like to think of The Bells as ‘a country pub in the city’. So why not come and
see us for a fun celebration, relaxing drink, a great bite to eat or some fine local
live entertainment most Thursdays and Sundays?
We’re a whisker from the city and the domain, in a great part of town, as diverse,
vibrant and interesting as it ever was. We hope to see you soon.

Live music
Def recommend this pub when in sydney. Good old fashioned bar with friendly atmosphere.
Cheap home cooked food. Live music on sundays...
