Ramshackle
What a depressing place this is. After a long drive from the south coast I thought I was close enough to the big smoke to find something a little civilised. However this quaint little dump wasn't worth crossing the street for. I shouldn't have stopped but I new if I went any further I would hit Newtown. And I couldn't face eating amongst the under employed Hipsters. The Tempe Hotel redefines bland. The food was bland. The service was bland. The whole place was an unpleasant mix of peeling paint, grannies hand me down furniture and bland. There was no means of locking the toilet cubicle and someone rude had had a sprinkle when they tinkled. There were two seedy chaps at the bar casting evil eyes at all about them and laughing in that wicked way criminals do in those old movies. After I finished my meagre plate of bland I left. But I felt that somehow the bland had rubbed off on me. And it took days for that feeling to pass.
Pigeon coupe
This place is a bio hazard and it's bizarre that they can serve food. The front of this pub is home to a pile of pigeons and is littered with bird poo every day. Walking past (as your best to do) is done at your own risk.
Time to improve
Typical local pub catering to regulars who put up with too much crap. Cheap wine for $5.00 and can't choose buy a bottle from the attached bottle shop without paying an extra $5.00! Asked for a bag of chips tonight but none available?? Really its time to focus on SERVICE and not just taking locals for granted.
