Owners Margaret and David have managed Clancy's Overflow Hotel, Isisford, since May 2002.
Isisford is part of "The Outer Barcoo", and is a very important and historical part of the vast area known to the world as outback Queensland.
George Power built the two story hotel in 1898 and named it the "Power's Club Hotel". While Ellis Sutton was the licensee of 'The Club Hotel' in 1907-1908 he installed electricity to the hotel. This being the first hotel in the far west to be connected to electricity.
Glen Clancy became licensee in 1965 and once again the name was changed to 'Clancys Overflow Hotel'.
Located 90 km south of Ilfracombe via a bitumen road and 122 km from Blackall and 1160 km from Brisbane, Isisford is a charming little settlement which has not changed significantly since the turn of the century.
If you are planning to visit the area then why not drop in and say G'day, sample an icy cold beer or better still book a room and sample the atmosphere that is Clancy's Overflow Hotel.
Isisford is located on the banks of the Barcoo River - is steep in history and is the inspiration behind the Famous Australian Poet Andrew Banjo Pattisons works such as the Bush Christening and Clancy of the Overflow
