Fitzpatrick’s Tavern is a landmark of Kuranda—”the Village in the Rainforest”. In the past it has always been one of the major attractions in the village. The original hotel was of traditional Queensland architecture, a stately timber pub right in the centre of the main street, just minutes from the famous railway station.
Billy’s Garden Bar provides an idyllic setting. Traditional Ozzie Barbeque is served on the open verandah in the shade of a magnificent fig tree. Dinners can enjoy a uniquely tropical alfresco dining experience and enjoy the magnificent panoramic views of the distant mountain range.
Service is provided from 10am till late. Daily freshly baked scones with homemade strawberry jam and fresh cream are a morning treat. Lunch includes a selection of BBQ meats with salad bar. BBQ Spare Ribs are one of the popular selections with overseas tourists. In addition to the Aussie BBQ, Chef Specials are prepared daily.
Full bar facilities are available. A selection of beers is on tap. Cocktails and an extensive wine selection will add that something special to every meal.
