Harry & Rosie's Welcome Home Hotel,Famous and historic Pub was biuld in 1896 as a single storey timber building.The name "Welcome Home"comes from welcoming soldiers home from Boar War.The present Welcome Home Hotel is third public house to be erected on this site,with previous two being destroyed by fire in 1898 and again in 1922.From 1934 to 1984 hotel was owned by prominent and very well known lady and publican Mrs.Ivy McNally.
The Welcome Home Hotel pays tribute to Australian bush culture,tradition and.history with it's walls showcasing art and memorabilia from bygone era.From art gallery,remarkable collection of Australian coins and banknotes,Opals from local area,old photographs to old Ringers hats,it is all there to be seen by visitors coming to Longreach.
