The historic Retreat Hotel is situated in a quiet bushland setting beside Denison Creek, Epsom. The Retreat Hotel was named after a nearby property Mount Spencer originally known as Spencers Retreat. In early 1865, Charles Heineman was granted a license for a public house he called the Retreat Hotel. There is little written on the Retreat Hotel history last century but we are lead to believe that Heineman or another person had been trading before that date, possibly it was established in 1863.
The Retreat Hotel offers a selection of ensuited double bedrooms, ensuited single, king single and bunk house rooms using communal bathrooms, on site laundry facilities, powered and non-powered caravan sites and free camping are available
