About Electric Light Hotel:

In a town where just about everyone and anyone can open a bar, the Electric Light Hotel strives for something a little different.

Gone are the days of focusing on one style of music or bowing to the knees of a particular club goer. Today’s club needs to adhere to everyone and all their needs.

The Electric Light Hotel was founded in 1901 by Sir Arthur Toynbee, a philandering virtuoso with a soft spot for a quiet ale. Setting up next to Adelaide’s first and only power station, he spent most nights entertaining the many workers with various impressions and stories. It is also recorded that he in1908 coined the phrase “electric boogaloo”. With a new structural overhaul and massive renovations, the Electric Light Hotel
continues his vision.

Drawing on the crème of Adelaide’s creative talent,
the Hotel is represented by the city’s best Promoters, DJ’s, Live Acts, Artists and Press, all under the one roof.

Live Music will be a feature at the hotel and it has
two areas designed for Keith Richards style resiliency. Whether it be Rock, Pop, Hip Hop, Acoustic, House or Electro, we have it covered with some of the best hook ups in the biz.

The Indoor area holds 240 punters, as well as an
outside open area complete with bbq facilities if
your after a hot beef injection. Our Front bar
and lounge modeled on a King Louis style setting
seats 165 delivering Coopers Finest Beers as well
as a Cocktail Bar second to none also available for
Functions and Parties.

Visual Art space is another strength and our monthly exhibitions will cater for established artists as well as discovering up and coming
Van Gough’s.
