Located in a large colonial building opposite the Bendigo football ground (Queen Elizabeth Oval) is a classic Aussie country pub. The Rifle Brigade Pub Brewery takes its name from the Bendigo Volunteer Rifle Brigade whose barracks were nearby.
The Rifle Brigade Pub Brewery contains its own boutique brewery, whose products have won several awards.

The local pub for the Bendigo Art Gallery
The thing that first caught my attention with this pub were the girls from a regional netball club running around looking for clues for some treasure hunt and whoever had laid out these clues must have done a particularly good job with this place because the girls were absolutely stumped (though they didn't end up giving up and having a beer).
It is quite a nice hotel though, with a small beer garden out the back, seating out the front, and a number of other areas which look quite comfortable. There was also an area that is underground, and sticking my nose down there I noticed that there were tables and seats there as well.
