At the time I went they didn't seem too busy still they kept me waiting for a long time to even take my order and the lady at the bar was pretty rude! The food was allright but after this kind of service I couldn't enjoy or like it.

Haven't been to pub for years because it's been so ordinary. Thought we'd give it another try. Booked a table and asked for it not to be near the kitchen which is always noisy and was told no problem. Arrived to be placed near the kitchen. OK, maybe they'll be really busy and that's the only place they could put us, but no, other tables remained empty all night. It was a simple request. So we were jammed up next to the table next to us, with people walking behind us all the time to get outside.

Didn't want to complain, so looked forward to the meal, hoping the level of service would've changed and the meals improved. It was nowhere near 'fine dining'. The atmosphere hasn't changed, and the service was average. We had to ask for the vegetables we'd ordered with the meal, which didn't come.

We're 20 year locals who just want a decent meal in our local pub. We'll give it another try, but right now, it's pretty disappointing.

The food was really below standard till recently they changed the chef I think. Looks and tastes like fine dining almost. Very Good food now

The meals and service at the Royal is great!
I love going there for a meal
& the two female managers, kick ass. You go girls!
The place has become a much warmer, and friendlier place to be since the two women have taken over, and I suggest that everyone comes in for a lovely meal and a good old chat in a reasonably country style pub.
Love the staff, love the food, love the drinks
Just overall love the place !
:)

I ate at the Royal Mail with my family last weekend and before that hadn't eaten there for years. I have to say it was one fo the best pub meals that I have eaten in a long time. The meals where of restaurant standard and the ambiance was excellent. I believe that there is new management - well done keep up the excellent work.

i would like to say that the royal mail hotel has improved so much since new management has taken over.....

They are two ladys who care so much about the place.you can see the differents when you walk in.They give that hotel a home feeling.

There seems to be a new chef,as the food is fantastic now and well presented

cant wait to see what ideas they have for the near future

go new mangment!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am a regular at the Royal,I have been surprised with the recent changes. The pub has a "womens touch". Meals are great value
and staff are interested in what the customers say. Go girls
