Horrible experience
The first time I went to Nag's Head about 4 years ago it was very distinguished. The security guard wouldn't even let me in for wearing dressy strappy thongs that weren't rubber when their entry requirements say no rubber thongs. I came back with good shoes and had a meal there.
4 years on my husband and I and the rest of my family and some friends went there and again, I was wearing strappy thongs but had my heels ready to put on just in case. Others wore rubber thongs and boardies and when we went in there was no security guard and noone told anyone to go home and change!- Even though the sign 'no thongs' etc was still there!
The first issue I had was with my drink. I ordered a Lemon Lime Bitters and it was so watered down it was disgusting. I don't usually complain but when you pay for something and it is the only drink you really enjoy, you do. I asked them to put more bitters in there or a new drink. They did so, begrudgingly, in front of me.
Then I ordered the Sirloin Steak and so did my husband but he had the surf and turf prawns added also. We asked for it to be medium rare. When the food came out the steak was so tough it was literally like leather. It was so dry! I held my tongue as I thought it was just a once off.
Then they cranked up the air con and everyone in the restaurant was freezing putting their jumpers and jackets on and I asked them kindly to please turn the air con off or turn it down a little. The lady went and had a little complain session about it to another lady and they were just gawking after.
Then when we thought we finally got away from that place, we got home and my husband had severe food poisoning all night and all the next day. He was the only one that had prawns.
Horrible experience, unfriendly staff, poor food and drinks. Seriously need a health inspector there.
worst service
this pub has shocking service and the staff have a negative attitude towards patrons, we would never recommend this pub to anyone...
