About Greenhills Inn:

Built in 1910, this historical building was once a haven for workers, townsfolk and visitors alike, but after years of neglect its doors closed and was left forgotten and unloved. However, it has been loving restored to its former glory by Ashley Matthews and John Perry. And today the Greenhills Inn stands proudly in a field of gold.

Ashley and John invite you to experience the charm and splendour of their 'home' set amongst the Ghost Gums of Greenhills. Whether it be bed and breakfast, a romantic dinner in your own private dining room, family reunion in the main dining room and fully licensed bar, or a night of champagne with friends in the spa pool under the stars.

An outdoor function area is also available for large functions and receptions (weddings, Melbourne Cup luncheon, etc.) Memorabilia surrounds you at Greenhills Inn. The exquisite antique furnishings throughout the entire hotel add to the magic of this majestic old building. Every bedroom has a unique personality. Each room a different colour. Each one a collection of paintings and mementos. Each one a museum.

Located 119 kilometres from Perth and only a stones throw from the township of York, it has all the charm of yesteryear. Greenhills Inn loses you within the tranquillity of the Australian bush.

Stroll through the hallways of this magnificent hotel, admire the antiques and wonder at the stories they hold.

Apryl & Rodney have moved into the Inn and have made amazing progress in bringing the pub up to scratch. The rooms are still great, Apryl & Rodney are great hosts/owners and the ambiance is terrific. They have made a great effort to make the pub a great place to spend time at. You can camp on the block next door for $0 and get a shower for $5 each.
Well done Apryl & Rodney.

Very sorry it has been so long for a reply to your message - I haven't visited this page for so long. If you get this and still want a couple of stories about Greenhills and it's life in the 50/60's, please contact me on the above email address. Would love to reminisce.

A group of 8 of us spent the night at the Greenhills Inn having 5 bedrooms which were all decorated differently, very clean and comfortable. We had dinner there before heading into York to a concert. Excellent meal, very efficient service and huge serves left all of us extremely impressed. The Irish owner Sean was very friendly and had us in stitches with his comments. We can highly recommend this old pub for a weekend away. Most relaxing and will definately go back at $80.00 a night it dosn't get much cheaper. Breakfast was delicious too - top compliments to the Chef!

Idilic setting full of fascinating old history, all beautifully preserved and lots of Irish about the place of course. A time warp, seemingly in the middle of nowhere these days.

I grew up on a farm 7 km from the Greenhills Siding Town. It was a little railway town, then the big silos were built and then the railways declined, no longer housing railway families. Even though I have spent the best part of my life in the Northern Territory, and now back here in WA where I was born (up the road in Quairading!) I find myself wanting to go home. As life goes on....we think of the times that were important. And this pub - which has been restored by a couple of very committed men will ensure that it will always be an absolutely great place to stand in. Mind you - I spent my time minding the truck while Dad was having a meeting!!! LOL that was back then.

I am going to book myself in, so I can go home for the weekend after 36 years being away!!
