About Grand Hotel:

Mount Magnet is a small township on the edge of the desert. It survives on a combination of goldmining and services for the surrounding pastoral area which boasts some of the largest sheep stations in Western Australia.
The town is well serviced by two supermarkets, two roadhouses, three hotels, cafe, butcher,
nursing post, post office, plus mechanical and engineering services.

The Grand hotel provides country style accommodation, hearty pub lunches and dinners, as well as a good selection of beer, wine and spirits.

Vastly improved

I recently stayed at the grand hotel again after approximately 18 months not travelling to the town and the hotel has improved vastly. The cost to stay at around $120 per night is reasonable given the lack of suitable accommodation in and around town. The rooms were clean and the air conditioner worked, cant ask for more than that in such towns. The food was good quality at reasonable prices. Management were friendly.

I have stayed at the caravan park in this town and the hotel is much better at roughly the same price.

I was unfortunate enough to stay a night at this hotel last month. It was far and away the worst place I have ever stayed at, it was absolutely filthy and at $125 a night was a joke. If we hadn't been driving for over 10 hours, plus paid upfront before seeing it we would never have stayed there and certainly will never stay there again, and also warn anyone we know not to stay there either. When we arrived home I did ring to speak to the manager who was not surprisingly unavailable at the time but of course didn't ring me back.
