Even after reading the poor reviews I am still wanting to know more. Because I boughtmy daughter there when she was young. Well now she is getting married and I would like some quotes. I think you have a beautiful place there and for what I am looking for. For my daughters day.
Please make contact. You have my email.
Kind Regards Susannah Burnham.

My husband, young son and I joined some friends at this "restaurant" on Saturday (15 Oct 2011) and I have to say, the food was terrible.

My husband had the Porterhouse steak ($26) and had only one mouthful. The steak tasted like it had been boiled. We ordered it median rare. It came out medium well. It was tough and chewy. The accompanying peppercorn sauce was overly salty but still did nothing to add to the favour. The chips that came with the steak was floury and soggy.

My son had the kid's meal steak with chips ($10.50) the meal came with a soft drink and yogurt. The meal does not come with sauce so we paid and extra $2 for a mushroom sauce. My son took one bite of his steak and spat it out. He refused the chips also. The orange juice was pre-mixed. Enough said.

My pasta special - a spaghetti marinara ($18) was mountainous in pasta. There wasn't much seafood but that was probably a good thing because the seafood was very very average. The mussels were cold. The calamari was tough. The prawns were chewy. The sauce was tomato-ey but lacked any other flavour. I thought the first cold mussel was a one off, so I tried a second one. That was cold too. I felt the other 3 and only one was warm. Suffice to say, I didn't eat much of this dish either.

The tavern has a lot of atmosphere and it was lovely to spend a balmy evening out by the river. But the food was below average. Very disappointing.

All three dishes were largely uneaten. We had toast we when got home.

My partner and i took a longtime friend to lunch for a special day , we ordered fish and chips because it was Friday? does that make sense, when our meal arrived "It looked delicious and the chips were delicious, But when it came to the fish it was absolutely horrible the fish was off and the batter was raw on the inside , water was running away under the batter, we were charged $16.50 per head and quite frankly we felt never to eat in your restaurant again, Is there there something wrong with your Chef or is he/she having a bad day, our companion was violently ill after going home and we too felt nauseated later in the day, Please explain???? I feel we would not have been the only ones suffering this ordeal!
