Summer Bright Lager

Summer Bright Lager

WHEN it comes to timing, XXXX couldn’t have done any better with the release of their latest product, Summer Bright Lager.

As the name implies, this beer is designed for the hotter months and offers a clean, crisp and refreshing taste.

It’s also very cunning that the bottle looks a lot like some Mexican beers on the market.

Summer Bright actually offers a bit more then its Mexican counterparts, with a slightly citrus flavour combined with a little bitterness making it a good thirst quencher.

It is not a heavy beer, and by that I mean it doesn’t sit heavy in the gut, even though it is 4.2 percent.

Nor does Summer Bright have a strong bouquet which will make it even more appealing to female drinkers who aren’t after a strong beer flavour or aroma.

Summer Bright is an ideal social beer and a good thirst quencher on a hot day.

Add to that, the fact that it is a low carb beer, and there’s plenty to enjoy about this latest offering from the XXXX stable.

There is a rapidly growing market for beer which lends itself to summer, not being heavy in the stomach and clean across the palate.

Summer Bright is ideal for light summer style dishes, salads, seafood and white meats, some spicy Asian dishes or some of the lighter Mediterranean dishes.

It can be enjoyed day or night and I have found it to be a good "cleansing ale" after dinner.

With excellent sessionability, I think you will see a lot of this drop out and about this summer.

MY TIP

Serve this very cold. It can be enjoyed straight out of the distinctive stubby and there’s no hard and fast rules about when you should drink it – just so long as the weather is hot.

It’s a beer for those who are after lighter flavoured lagers, so if you enjoy more robust beers, you might find this a bit wanting. It should go well with the Mexican beer-lover set, and coming in a bit cheaper it should find a ready market very quickly.

At around $14 for a six pack of 330ml stubbies, it’s a very affordable and easy-to-drink beer.
