To the Manager
I feel it is in your interest to tell you of our experience in the new Li'l Nich cafe today (Sat.30th July)
We thought we would try out your establishment and ordered for lunch a scotch egg (to have between two in view of the size) and two side salads. We were told they were only served hot so when we received our order we split it and it was raw inside. Having returned it the waitress she had the chef reheat a different one. When we got it, for me it was inedible, the fat (from double frying) was oozing and it tasted disgusting. I tried to explain that it was not advisable to have them in the display cabinet half cooked, half raw but I was told that you had not had any complaints before and it was a matter of taste. If I had just disliked the taste I would have left it and said nothing, however, this half cooked half raw product is not "a matter of taste" is it. It's down right dangerous.
Having said all this I think the new cafe has a very nice ambiance and it is a shame that something like this was not taken seriously. This was my point in trying to explain to the waitress ( it was not the asian lady)
I will say that we were offered tea or coffee in compensation which we declined. All we wanted was for our complaint to be taken seriously. I was quite shocked at the response.
