Great Local Hospitality
On a trip down from Atherton to Tully Heads over Christmas, I found myself very low on fuel and had anticipated the BP Service Station next door to be open. Well it wasn't so I went into the Hotel to ask for directions to the nearest OPEN Service Station, and was told I'd need to go into Innisfail.
My plight was overheard by one of the Hotels Patrons who offered to allow me to cyphen some fuel from his car as he had just refuelled.
He (a former Hardware Manager) must have told his friends, one of whom from a local Hardware offered fuel he had in a jerry can, plenty to get me into Innisfail. And initially he refused any payment. How's that!
We made a deal that not only could I give him a token amount, but that I could also buy him and his friends (the former Hardware Manager and a lovely SES Lady) a round of drinks. And the beer was cold and refreshing.
So I'd like to say a special thank you, and if I can organise anouther shout for these Samaritans!
