Hi I am a resident in scone
Hi I am a resident in scone and frequent the belmore on occasion. Scone cup is an extreamly busy time for the whole town. Let me assure you there are no such things as quiet drinks on this night. $10 is what the majority of licenced establishments charge as they have to pay for security and music etc!!!
entry to the pub
WE WERE AT SCONE FOR THE SCONE CUP FOR THE 10TH YEAR IN A ROW HAD A GREAT TIME,AS WE ALWAYS GO BACK TO THE BELMORE FOR A DRINK AFTER THE RACES AND ALWAYS INJOY.THIS TIME WITH THE SAME GROUP OF 10 WE WERE ASKED FOR A ENTRY FEE OF $10 AS WE ARE AT A AGE OF 50 WE JUST WENT BACK TO HAVE A FEW QUITE DRINKS, NOT TO LISTEN TO A DJ. WE WERE DISAPOINTED TO BE TURN AWAY AS WE WERE NOT GOING TO PAY $10 THEN TO HAVE TO BUY DRINKS. WE ONLY DRINK IN THE SMALL SEACTION OF THE PUB
Belmore Hotel Scone
All pubs have a set number of people they can let in and during the scone cup the town is packed, so dont be dissapointed if you get turned away they can only do so much.
The Belmore is the best pub in town and has the best resturant. The owners are great people and friendly staff and an execellent chef not just a cook.
Its well worth a look in.
