Had lunch with friends at the pub today and all four of us loved our meals. I had Reef & Beef...a 350g steak with prawns in a creamy garlic sauce and perfect thick-cut chips. The steak was cooked perfectly (medium) and was very tender. We sat on the veranda under the big trees and it if hadn't been such a hot day we would probably still be there.

This place is great - if you've come direct from the 1970's. The menu is as basic as pub food from 40 years ago - plenty of meat- of poor quality, veggies only garnish - and salads free from any taste. Although prices are well within the 2012 range. The service is particularly bad - no alterations to set menu allowed. Sorry - no gluten free, vegan, vegetarian or allergies catered for here. And you have to collect your meal yourself from the bar. The food was not just bad, it was awful. The only positive I can say would be the excellent location, and beautiful historic building. Try other places in town.

Worst pub meal I've ever had. All 6 people at our table also had terrible meals. The prices are not good either and the service equally as bad. Will not be going back. This pub is in a great location and has so much potential but, well, I think we'll be trying somewhere else next time. Feel very sorry for the locals!

I rang the hotel after reading a few comments. This website is old and they do not know how to remove it, but the Crown Hotel in Dayboro definitely has NO ACCOMMODATION.

there is unfortunately no accommodation here. I'd recommend Dayboro Cottages & Llama Walks, Blue Ridge Lavender farm or Brunkhurst Farm Stay for the area ( or guests of Glengariff Estate weddings ).
