About Golden Crown Hotel:
The Golden Crown Hotel was built in Berriwillock in 1896 by Fairbanks and Wilson from local limestone and bricks which had been made and fired on the banks of the Tyrrell Creek.
The origin of the name as legend has it that the name first appeared on a piece of tin nailed on a post in front of the old bag shanty which preceded the present building .

Proprietor of Hotel 1903 - GIBB family
I have a photo taken out the front of the Golden Crown Hotel in approx. 1903 when my Great, Great Grandparents were Proprietors.
Their names were Christina and James Rankin GIBB.
The photo features some family members and their horse and buggy.
I would love to know whether there are any old photos at the pub that may go back to this era. I look forward to having a drink at the pub in the near future and also taking up a copy of the photo for viewing.
