The original Bridge Hotel was established in 1879 and was a classic working men's pub distinguished by a handsome veranda that overlooked Victoria Road
The walls are the pub's collective memory and the photographs record the appearance of such legendary people and groups as Midnight Oil, Mick Taylor (one-time guitarist with the Rolling Stones), British-born New Orleans-style piano maestro Jon Cleary, the great B.B. King, Chuck Berry's pianist extraordinaire Johnnie Johnson, Tony Joe White, Christine Anu and Tex Perkins.
There's a beer garden out the back and a good lounge with a pool table in the main bar area.
