About Bootenal Family Tavern:

The railway line between Geraldton and Walkaway was laid in 1887. The BFT began life as a community hall in the late 1800s near one of the sidings called Bootenal, a name first given to a spring on the Front Greenough Flats earlier in the 1800s. The word derives (so they say) from Boolugnul – the pelican, and by extension from Bootenoo – the name given to the Greenough River by its traditional aboriginal custodians.

This is the local watering hole with a twist, where you can expect to see rural folk mixing with big city groovers, all vibing out to the great sounds of local and interstate musos and artists. Great sound system, a happening juke box and pool tables out the back for those who like to dance on the inside.

Come visit our BEER GARDEN with live music under the stars. The BFT is the MidWest’s PREMIER STAND-UP COMEDY venue. We also cater for functions of up to 70 people in the restaurant and throw a grouse party for more.

Real pub grub featuring the famous Bootenal Family T-Bone.

Open for dinner Fridays and Saturdays 6-9pm and special functions.

Families most WELCOME.
