The Spencers Brook Tavern was built in 1884 by local pioneer Thomas Wilding primarily because the railway line was going through and there were thoughts it would be the major townsite along the line.
Well known today for their wholesome hearty home cooking, the Spencers Brook Tavern is just the place to relax and unwind while enjoying a glass of local ale, perhaps in the attractive Beer Garden shaded by Flooded Gum trees & nearby Spencers brook - both still flowing after more than 120 years. A rose bush rumoured to be as ancient as the Spencers Brook Tavern, still blooms within the gardens. Close by the Tavern, an original Fettler’s Cottage is well worth seeing.
