The historic, spacious, Riverview Hotel situated directly opposite the Tarwin River some 20 kilometers from Inverloch is renowned for its warm, friendly atmosphere.
The new owners have revamped the menu with the emphasis on family bistro meals at family prices. They source the best possible produce to ensure your dining experience at the Riverview will be memorable. Try a Tarwin T-Bone if you are game, or more to the point if you are hungry.
In summer dine or have a glass of wine or beer on the spacious verandah taking in the activities on the river opposite – very relaxing!
In winter the huge open fire creates a fantastic atmosphere.

This pub is awesome! great
This pub is awesome! great meals, country atmosphere, close to the water. Chicken parma is huge and delicious, oysters are always nice and fresh! I have been to this pub loads of times and I am never disappointed. Courtesy bus is also a treat!
Fantastic location, the food
Fantastic location, the food is fabulous here...live entertainment is somewhat disappointing but the venue is well worth a visit...
We had a meal here and it
We had a meal here and it was fine, as alreadyh stated pub meals at pub prices.
The only problem we had was because of the hour they had sold out of some things on the menu.
Spent a lovely Sunday arvo
Spent a lovely Sunday arvo on the deck listening to some top class music. The staff were welcoming, the locals were friendly, the food was good country pub fare at a reasonable price. Looking forward to spending more time there.
The meals here are teriffic.
The meals here are teriffic. True old fashioned aussie meals. Hard to find in todays world of comercial pubs owned by fosters or lions. Good food! try the steak sandwich!
Meal at the Tarwin Pub on Saturday 27th March 2010
As newcomers to the area this was our first visit to the Tarwin Pub. The overall appearance is of a somewhat tired but favourite friendly pub with both visitors and locals.
I ordered a Warm Chicken Salad and my husband the Atlantic Salmon. The presentation of the Salmon was less than average but was edible as opposed to the Warm Chicken Salad. The salad consisted of the outer leaves of the lettuce, red onion and a few other extras, drenched in balsamic dressing. I could not rest my eyes on the chicken lest I gagged. It had been slow stewed on a plate or pan that appeared to have had all the other meals of the day cooked on it as well. These four grey, greasy tenderloins sat atop the salad daring the purchaser to risk eating them. We may return for a drink but would not risk a meal again. Rating: -5
