Our pub is called ‘The Brookton’ (her new name). She is located at the crossroads between the Great Southern and Brookton Highways and is a short 1.5 hour drive from Perth along the very picturesque Brookton Highway.
The building is a testament to the diverse talents of our early settlers who built her a century ago. She is a two story Federation building with wrap around verandahs on two sides. She retains many of her original features including numerous fireplaces, stunning pressed metal ceilings throughout the building, a beautiful jarrah staircase which leads to the second floor, a massive dining room with the most magnificent pressed metal ceiling.
The building is undergoing a facelift to bring her back to her former glory. Work has commenced on the main bar and will showcase the original pressed metal ceilings that were damaged when a false ceiling was installed in the 80's. We hope to open the bar in approximately 12 months but in the meantime, we can offer you a good night's sleep in extremely comfortable beds with a delicious continental breakfast.
With 15 rooms we can cater for groups of up to around 30 people. So for road crews, workers, social groups, clubs or large families looking for somewhere inexpensive to stay and relax it is an ideal overnight or weekend getaway for your trip to country Western Australia.
There is nothing better than a cuppa or a glass of wine on the balcony whilst overlooking the park, the train station and the bush reserve.
