No complaints here!

As of 2013, not these DATED comments, Rolleston Hotel Motel is under new Management. Sherry the Manager runs a tigh ship but will go out of her way to make sure you have a nice stay in Rolleston. There are usually a few international backpackers behind the bar greeting you with a smile, great service and some friendly chat.

The food is amazing and served from 12-2pm and 6-8pm. They have a big menu to choose from and it's made by their Hawaiian Chef, he is also quite flexible if you have a reasonable request.

The motel style rooms are basic but ensuite and kept well. They have limited space due to a lot of bookings from local mine or road workers but they always keep a few for passer-bys and visitors.

The pub is a great spot at night for some great food, drinks, music and an enjoyable evening.

Lance Friend & Band came to sing last night which was a very busy, really enjoyable night!

Rolleston is a great spot for a quick stop off for a drink, food or somewhere comfortable to lay your head for the night!

There's not too much to see in Rolleston but the Gorge isn't too far off and that's a must see spot!

My husband and I rode (on motorbike) to Rolleston from Emerald today with the thought that we might have lunch at the Rolleston Hotel. As Michelle said, "No country hospitality here". We stood at the bar at half past one and looked at thier lunch menu which finished at two, one family ate their lunch quietly as we waited and one gentleman sat at the public bar with his beer.... it was not exactly peak hour. A man appeared from the kitchen, took one look at my husband and I, still with our motorbike jackets on, grunted and walked back into the kitchen. A woman working in the kitchen looked at us and continued to do whatever it was she was doing without uttering as much as a "Hello" or "I'll be with you in a minute". After both of the staff had seen us, we waited for a further ten minutes, being ignored until finally we walked out.
I don't know if the publicans of Rolleston Hotel have a problem with motorcycle riders or believe that they have such a wonderful trade that they don't need any additional patronage but my advice (especially if you travel around on motorcycles) is don't stop at Rolleston Hotel, they are the rudest, most arrogant people I have ever met.

I often visit my father or do some casuel work in rolleston my father lives directly behind the pub! i am sort of a local in rolleston and i just wanna say if your coming back through at any time you guys are most welcome to stop in here and say hello and have a cold beer! about 8 years ago we had the best publican ever Gordy was his name and country hospitality was his game,,, but it all went down hill from there,,,
as you experienced we have to live with it and we have 4 8 years now :(

If you want hospitality stop in at Duringa hotel cause that is where gordy is now worst luck 4 us locals we have tried to steal him back but we are stuck with these 2 rude publicans that hate to have to make an effort to do anything let alone crack a smile!!!!

remember the offer of a cold beer stands if i'm not here dad will offer ya one :)

After battling through the floodwaters, we were desperate for sleep. We had to wake up the lady that runs this place... We were insulted, abused & ripped off. There was no country hospitality here and at the end of the day we thought she may have greeted us with a little understanding & kindness (and maybe a little grateful for the business) but to no avail... We were also extremely saddened to learn that the town had been isolated for 3 weeks 'apparantly' yet there were 2 backpackers forced to sleep in the park in the centre of town (the mosquitos and midgies were absolutely unbearable)... Whilst this woman had a bunch of empty crappy old rooms...
